1580 to 1599
When put into effect in 1582, the Gregorian Calendar was adopted at 1580 - 13 1590 - 5 once by most countries. A major exception was Great Britain and its 1581 - 1 1591 - 6 vast World Empire, including the American Colonies. 1582 - 2 1592 - 14 1583 - 3 1593 - 2 1584 - 11 1594 - 3 The British Empire remained under the Julian Calendar until 1752. On September 2nd of that year, it was decreed that 11 days would 1585 - 6 1595 - 4 be dropped, making the next day September 14th.
